Techniques

Wright Chiropractic provides a range of techniques so your care is tailored to your specific needs.

  • Diversified
  • Thompson (drop table-assisted adjusting)
  • Gonstead
  • Flexion-Distraction
  • Activator

Dr. Wright prefers a hands-on approach of spinal adjusting when possible.  However, drop table-assisted adjusting and Activator instrument-assisted adjusting allows for less forceful adjusting procedures that are used when clinically indicated.

Chiropractic adjustments are designed to be safe and comfortable.  When a subluxation exists, however, spinal joints may be tender until proper function is restored.  Dr. Wright will choose the best technique to allow a pleasant experience with your chiropractic care.

Subluxation Station

At Wright Chiropractic we employ objective chiropractic technology to assess the impact of stress in your life.

This technology will help us to objectively:

  • Detect areas of nerve disturbance.
  • Document and monitor results.
  • Deliver the appropriate chiropractic care.

What is the Subluxation Station?

A computerized, non-invasive & painless test consisting of thermal and surface electromyology (SEMG).

Why should I get a scan of my nervous system?

The benefits of these scans are to detect and pinpoint abnormal function which cannot be seen on X-ray and are generally not felt in the form of pain until the damage is severe; much like a heart attack.  It has been proven that a very slight amount of pressure can disturb the communication of the nervous system whether or not symptoms are present.  The scans will show if there is any subluxation (stress) on your nervous system and how it is affecting your organs, glands, muscles & energy level.

How will this test benefit me?

These computerized scans will let you know if chiropractic can help you.  For years, a major concern of the public has been , "Why do I have to keep coming back when I'm pain-free?" or "How do I know if I'm getting the proper amount of adjustments?" Now you are able to actually see the changes, and it will be easier to understand the amount and type of care you are receiving. Because of this technology, Dr. Wright can provide a "tailor-made" program to meet your specific health needs.

Does the test hurt?

Absolutely not. These tests do not utilize any needles, electric shock, or heat whatsoever. They are receiving important information from your central nervous system.  The patient just feels someone touching their spine. Even infants can be scanned.

Surface electromyograph (SEMG)

SEMG will measure how your motor nerves are working. This is the part of the nervous system controlling muscles & movement. The more your muscles contract...the more electrical activity. We are able to measure the amount of muscle spasms or weakness which may indicate stress to your nervous system caused by subluxation.

Muscle Balance (Symmetry)

Muscle Balance is extremely important because the vertebrae in the spine depend on the muscles to move properly. If one or more vertebrae are out of their normal position, it disturbs nerve function. This disturbance creates muscle imbalance which can be seen on the SEMG as an abnormal amount of electrical current in the muscles on either side of the spine. As a result of this disturbance, the muscles can become weaker, tighter, or fatigued.

Chiropractic care enhanced by technology

Dr. Wright has joined a growing number of high tech chiropractic doctors that have upgraded their level of care to better assess the health and well being of their community. People can now be examined by the Insight Subluxation StationTM, a non-invasive technology which is a neuro-spinal screening and evaluation system originally designed to measure changes in the spinal muscles of astronauts caused by space flight. It is painless, economical, and only takes minutes.

Dr. Wright uses the InsightTM technology to help measure subluxations, which is a nerve interference along the spine.  This nerve interference disturbs the muscles regular nerve function, causing an abnormal amount of electrical flow to the muscles and create other health problems. The Insight Subluxation StationTM measures the electrical flow and charts it, using graphics that show the spine. This helps specify precisely when chiropractors should adjust their patients, allowing for increased accuracy in diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes.

The InsightTM technology used by Dr. Wright has received the highly regarded, exclusive recognition of a Certified Space TechnologyTM from The Space Foundation, in cooperation with NASA. "We are extremely excited to be able to bring this breakthrough technology to our office and patients," states Dr. Wright. "Providing the highest level of care for the people is the goal and purpose of our office". To have an evaluation with the Insight Subluxation Station, contact Wright Chiropractic.
